What I Did Today

I'm going to show you something I usually try to hide from people. My front room closet...

Notice it is packed full. My family can't hang coats in my closet! It's no wonder they throw their coats on the couch or in the kitchen. That is one of my pet peeves.

And here is everything that was hiding behind the coats. Some of this stuff I haven't set eyes on for years!

Now look how nice it is. Half of the hangers in the closet are empty, so there is even room to have more coats hung. I even have room for my carpet cleaner and vacuum! Hallelujah! I spent the day putting stuff for DI in my car so I can drop it off on the way home from work tomorrow. It was worth the many hours it took. I wish I had a week to work on all the other areas in my house that need attention.

  1. Oh Katrina! Could you please make a quick trip to Burley and help me with a few of my closets?! Don't you just love the feeling of an organized closet?

  2. I'd wish I could Karmen. If I did, I bet we'd start a closet, and then just visit instead. That would be more fun!

Now I need to get to the hall closet, and the the space above the kitchen cupboards, and my "craft" room. If I could get to all that, I'd be satisfied.

  3. Woo hoo! Good work! I love clearing out all of the stuff. My family is always suspicious that I'm going to get rid of too much, but it's too hard to have an orderly house with all of the unused stuff. You should see Dakota and Chey's room since I heaved bags of their things. It's so much nicer.

  4. They say on TV that if your space is cluttered, then your mind is also. With a cluttered mind so much attention is waisted. You can't begin to think clearly on any given thing. Congrats Katrina for tackling one room anyway.

  6. Haha, good job Aunt Katrina! I'm afraid organization is not my strength. Actually I should get that done tomorrow.
I can totally see how having a cluttered house(or room)can make your mind cluttered. My day always goes better when my room is clean. I find I can accomplish a lot more.

So how do I get anything done?

  7. It looks great! Sometimes it is so refreshing to just deep clean something, even if it is just the coat closet! What a great feeling, eh?

  9. Hi Katrina! Cousin Tracy here...I love your blog and I love your clean closet! When I finally do something like that, I have to walk by it every few minutes and just take a look and enjoy it. Way to go, girl! I miss you & love you!

  10. Hi Tracy!! It's good to hear from you a little bit. Stop by anytime.

Sondra, I also wait till nobody is at home to get rid of stuff. It's amazing what my family will want to hold on to if they see me wanting to get rid of it. And it is amazing that they don't (usually) miss it if they didn't see me throw it out.
